Installation

Most material mistakes begin before the order is placed.

Good measuring records make it easier to compare suppliers, explain the installation plan and leave room for fastening, endwall treatment and future maintenance.

Greenhouse film attachment and repair materials at a greenhouse sidewall

Measure the route, not only the footprint

A greenhouse cover travels over hoops, roof lines, endwalls and fastening zones. A floor length and width alone can understate the material needed. Record the path over the structure, the location of channels or profiles, end treatment, overlap, repair allowance and any sections that need a separate piece. Keep the drawing with the quotation request so suppliers are working from the same scope.

Prepare the installation system before the cover arrives

Inspect the frame for sharp edges, loose hardware, rubbing points and incomplete supports. Confirm the specified fastening channel, wire, profile, tape, closure or seal for the selected material. Panels and film have different expansion, direction and edge-treatment details; follow the product-specific manual rather than transferring a method from another cover type. Choose a weather window and assign enough people and safe access equipment for the material size.
